Introduction
Delphic HSE Solutions Limited is a company comprising experienced and highly qualified professionals in the fields of toxicology, pathology product safety, cosmetic safety assessment, product development and environmental management and assessment. Our consultants have all worked for large international organizations as well as on projects for industry associations in the oil, lubricants and chemical industries.
REACH, the new EU Regulation governing the import, manufacture and use of chemicals within the European Economic Area (EEA) is a fundamental change in the way that chemicals are regulated and represents a revolution in Chemical Law that is already being mirrored in other countries i.e. China. Delphic HSE staff have been involved in the REACH process from the beginning, delivering training sessions to a wide range of people from manufacturers, importers and retailers since 2006. Already approved as a supplier by REACH Ready the Chemical Industry Association’s specialised advisory service, Delphic HSE is already offering a REACH Only Representative service to companies exporting into the EU.
We have been working with several multinational manufacturing companies within the EU to help them meet their REACH obligations.
Cosmetic safety assessments in Europe are required by law and Delphic HSE consultants have nearly 100 years combined experience in cosmetic safety assessment. Our assessments are detailed and already meet the requirements of the proposed Cosmetic Product Regulation and we have already sent out a detailed note on the proposed changes to our existing customers.
As well as cosmetics and personal care products Delphic HSE staff have wide experience of household product safety assessments. Products ranging from room fragrances, to cleaners, household detergents and polishes are all within the scope of Delphic HSE’s expertise. Risk assessment is key to ensuring that products can be used with safety and confidence and Delphic HSE has a wide experience in Risk Assessment that can benefit the product development and sales of your company, protecting your customers – the consumer – from harm and your business from expensive product recalls and customer complaints.
Toys are also a speciality of Delphic HSE Consultants. The EU Toy regulations require that toys are safe both physically and toxicologically. EN-71 covers the testing of toys but it only goes so far in that there are a limit number of ingredients, such as heavy metals and phthalates that are addressed by testing. The toy regulations are closely related to the EU Cosmetics Directives and rely on risk assessment to ensure safety in use.
