Exciting News as Delphic Continues to Grow in Hong Kong

Back to news

After two years, Delphic is well settled in to its Hong Kong office, operating confidently in a buoyant market with a strong appetite for regulatory and compliance services. The launch of the office in Hong Kong has been largely spearheaded by Dr. James Wakefield who, with the help of his expert team, has been responsible for quickly growing this regional part of the business.

New member of the board

After having such a positive impact on the business, Dr. James Wakefield will now sit on the board of directors. In addition to years of loyal work for our organisation, Dr. Wakefield has offered many more years’ worth of technical and business guidance. He has been invaluable.

James joined Delphic in the UK in January 2014, having previously worked for the UK Health Protection Agency. There he was in charge of a number of Research Projects in the field of skin toxicology, including some involvement with research in preparation for the London 2012 Olympics.

James was keen to offer his comments.

“Since joining Delphic I have seen the company grow into a truly international operation, and I am excited to have been involved in this expansion in Asia Pacific through the growth of the Hong Kong Office. None of this would be possible without the expert members of the team, both in Hong Kong and the UK. I am truly honored to accept this role on the board of directors, and am excited to be more involved with the future development of Delphic.”

After some months working with us in the UK before, James moved on to secondment in the Hong Kong office in June 2014. It’s a testament to the work of the team, including Lisa Tian and Ken Liu, as they have triggered a significant growth in overseas revenue. So much so, there is now the need for two more members staff.

Welcome to Lin Yang

As our first new hire to the Hong Kong Office, we are delighted to announce a Trainee Toxicologist, starting in July. Lin Yang is relocating to Hong Kong from Beijing where she worked as a Scientist at the China National Centre for Food Safety Risk Assessment. Previously to that she earned a PhD and MSc in Chemical Biology, and BSc in Pharmaceutical Science at Peking University.

Please join me in offering a very warm welcome to Lin!

It’s extremely exciting to see the office in Hong Kong grow. It’s a great sign of the potential that we have as a collective set of talented individuals. Having James on the board will help us to integrate our offices and create a consistent level of consultancy across multiple regions.

We shall be taking a deep breath over the coming months as the entire business looks to drive old and brand new initiatives. We really hope that you’re excited to see Delphic develop and grow as a result of your hard work.
