Cecilia graduated from a joint undergraduate programme between China Agricultural University in China and University of Leeds in the UK with a BSc in Bioscience and Microbiology with Immunology respectively from the two universities in 2010, followed by obtaining a Bioscience MSc program at University of Leeds in 2011 working on a project focusing on a genetic mutation for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. She later took an internship as a technician at the testing laboratory at Fujian Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Bureau of P.R.C before she decided to pursue a MSc degree in Food Safety and Toxicology at University of Hong Kong. On the completion of her study, she joined a trainee programme at Bright Future Pharmaceutical Laboratories Limited under job title Microbiologist Trainee. She then worked as a microbiologist and Laboratory QA at SGS Hong Kong Limited starting from 2015. As a result of company position transfer, she began her training as an associate toxicologist for SGS Hong Kong Limited, specialising in risk assessment of personal care products and product labelling and claim review. As an associate toxicologist she had also received professional training in the area of risk assessment on EU cosmetic safety assessment from Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She later became a toxicologist and team supervisor at SGS Hong Kong Limited before she joined Delphic HSE Solutions in 2020. Cecilia is a member of the Royal Society of Biology and is working towards becoming a EuroTox Registered Toxicologist.
