Profile: Dr Fabian Pitter Steinmetz

Senior Toxicologist – QSAR & Computational Expert Back to people

Fabian holds a degree in Process Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences, Trier, Germany and a MSc in Toxicology from the Athlone Institute of Technology, Ireland. After gaining some experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, he did a PhD in the School of Pharmacy at Liverpool John Moores University focussing on in silico methodologies and their use in the toxicological assessment of cosmetic ingredients (as part of the SEURAT-1 research cluster funded by the European Commission and Cosmetics Europe). Since January 2016 Fabian supports Delphic HSE as a Toxicologist, interrupted by a research project at Merck KGaA where he improved the in silico model landscape for their drug design pipelines. In his current role he supports Delphic HSE also with in silico methods, such as quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) models and Read-Across approaches. Furthermore Fabian is a committee member of the In Vitro Toxicology Society (IVTS) and the Schildower Kreis, a German expert panel for drug policy reform.
