Profile: Akmal Yazdani

Akmal has over 10 years of experience working in the area of toxicological risk and exposure assessment of consumer products, specializing in personal care products. He has work experience in compliance and product safety requirements for global consumer goods from inception to market launch. In 2010, he was awarded a Master’s degree in Pharmacology from Hamdard University, New Delhi, India.

Akmal joined the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) as a Senior Research Fellow in 2010 and supported with scientific writing of the Indian Medicinal Plant Herbal Monograph. Between 2011-2016, he worked for WNS global services (GSK CHRD), Evalueserve and Intertek India on conducting toxicological risk assessments of personal care products, creation of CPSR’s, compilation of PIF’s and gained valuable expertise in these domains. He then joined the Reckitt-Benckiser Consumer Safety team as a Consumer Safety Associate in 2016, where he led the toxicological safety delivery team for cosmetics and personal care products for their baby care range, as well as being the Safety Lead for the e-rb business unit.

Akmal joined Delphic HSE in January 2022 as Senior Toxicologist and is responsible for safety and regulatory aspects of cosmetic products. He is also a Member of the Royal Society of Biology.
