Vaness obtained her bachelor’s degree in Cosmetic Science from the University of Sunderland. She had undertaken an industrial placement as a part of her degree at the Soil Association in the United Kingdom. As a member of the Health & Beauty team, Vaness worked with clients on ingredient and product approval, reviewing label artwork, claim substantiation, inspection report etc to ensure all processes are in line with COSMOS – the mainstream global standard for natural and organic cosmetics, as well as Health & Beauty standards developed by the SA.
In her undergraduate dissertation, Vaness investigated and compared the properties of synthetic silicones with its natural alternatives in hair conditioner formulations. The study specifically focussed on damaged hair types and a critical evaluation was done on different hair analysis methods.
Vaness is based in the Hong Kong office, she is mainly responsible for supporting regulatory compliance services for cosmetics.
